Digby Morgan is excited to be working with a construction and engineering company looking for a Learning and Development Advisor.

The learning and development advisor will support the compliance training for employees, partners and workers within the company, up to and including senior management. You will work collaboratively with the functional leads and HR Business Partners to support sectors / capabilities in unlocking potential in their people and ensuring they have the right skills to work safely. In doing so you will enable the company to deliver its purpose of improving people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Technical Training to ensure mandatory compliance across the group e.g. Safety Health & Environment & NVQs etc
  • Design programmes of activities aligning with the training needs analysis, which includes working closely with subject matter experts to develop online and face to face content
  • Build relationships with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders to understand emerging trends, innovations and best practice.
  • Commission and manage delivery by external providers where appropriate, securing best value for money and ensuring that any external funding opportunities are maximised.
  • Manage external grant and levy schemes such as CITB
  • Deliver training where appropriate (incl. Induction)

About you

  • A minimum of two years of experience in L&D Operations field
  • CIPD Level 3 or equivalent
  • Ability to use a variety of learning/ training concepts and principles
  • Experience of learning/ training design, delivery, evaluation & improvement
  • Awareness of external funding streams (e.g. ECITB, CITB, Kickstart, etc.)
  • Experience of using LMS and provision of management Information


  • Experience in utilising external funding streams (e.g. ECITB, CITB, Kickstart, etc.)
  • Experience in the Engineering / Construction Industry
  • Awareness of Health & Safety training for
  • Engineering/Construction
