Our client is after a Head of HR to join their team during an exciting time of new projects, expansion and growth. This is a permanent role with the opportunity to work partly from home as well as being in the office where you can thrive in a bustling atmosphere with 100 other employees!!
Main aims:
- Partnering with the senior leadership team to support the business in all people related matters, ensuring the HR agenda is in line with the business plan and adaptable to company requirements.
- Leading the development of their people through proactive learning and development initiatives.
- Supporting delivery of key projects including supporting organisational design and embedding mission and vision across the business.
- Ensuring that policies and procedures are in line with legislation and support business strategy.
- Overseeing the pay and benefits operation for the company.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting managers with recruitment processes and issuing terms and conditions of employment
- Maintaining / establishing and implementing policies and procedures, ensuring legal compliance and business focus
- Supporting managers on employee relations, performance and absence management matters
- Supporting internal restructure (including redundancies)
- Managing the Payroll & Benefits Administrator
- Responsible for the annual renewal of the Group's healthcare provision
- Monitoring the Whistleblowing helpline
- Ensuring all HR records are maintained and up to date including HR database, sickness records as well as timetables for maternity, probation review, flexible working applications
- Ensuring compliance with Asylum and Immigration policies
- Act as part of the Welfare team (Business Continuity Management)
- Ad hoc duties such as supporting the Drug & Alcohol Screening
- Health and safety responsibilities
Required experience:
- At least five years' experience of generalist HR, with at least two years' experience in a senior HR role in a medium sized organisation
- Change management, restructuring and redundancies
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of employment rights, legislation and best practice including performance management, conflict, employee relations and terms and conditions of employment
- Experience of culture change would be advantageous
- Implementing new HR systems would be advantageous
- Familiarity with payroll processes and pension arrangements (including automatic enrolment)
- A good understanding of the latest employment legislation
