Charity Triathlon

Digby Morgan enjoyed a fantastic albeit rather wet day last Saturday.  A team of ‘elite athletes’ took part in the team event of the Mazda triathlon, all in aid of the worthwhile charity Parents for Children which is one of Digby Morgan's chosen charities.

The rain failed to put a dampener on the day and by 10am the teams were set and raring to go. The swimmers were the first to set off and all cautiously made their way to the rather murky Thames. They all had an extremely successful 1.5k swim (all returning alive!) and soon the bikers were on their way.  The 40k was a real challenge however everyone did a sterling job returning in under an hour and then there was the just the final 10k for the runners to battle their way through the wind and rain before triumphantly crossing the finish line.

The event raised an absolutely fantastic £5075.26 for Parents for Children, well worth the slightly sore legs the next day!
